Post-Surgical Recovery Care
Post-Op & Lymphatic Drainage Massage in Palm Beach Gardens
A gentle, specialized massage that supports your body's natural recovery. Performed by licensed therapists experienced in lymphatic drainage and post-surgical massage.

What It Is
How lymphatic drainage supports recovery
Your lymphatic system is the body's waste-removal network. It picks up worn-out cells, foreign particles and excess fluid so they can be filtered and cleared. After surgery, that system is often overwhelmed, which is why swelling and a feeling of heaviness are so common in the weeks that follow.
Post-operative lymphatic massage uses light, deliberate strokes to encourage that fluid to move toward the lymph nodes, where the body can process it. It is a specialty technique — very different from a deep tissue massage — and it should only be performed by a licensed therapist trained in post-surgical work.
Many clients tell us they feel lighter and more comfortable after a session. Your results depend on your procedure, your body and how your recovery is progressing, and your surgeon remains the person guiding your medical care. We work alongside those instructions, never in place of them.
This service is supportive care, not medical treatment. Always follow your surgeon's post-operative instructions and contact your surgeon or physician with any concerns about your healing.

Questions
Post-op lymphatic massage FAQs
What is lymphatic drainage massage?
Lymphatic drainage massage is a light, rhythmic technique that follows the lymphatic pathways to encourage excess fluid toward the lymph nodes, where the body can process it. It is much gentler than a deep tissue massage and is often chosen by clients dealing with fluid retention, heaviness or swelling.
What does the lymphatic system do?
It is a separate network from your blood circulation that collects extra fluid, worn-out cells and foreign particles so the body can filter and clear them. After surgery or during illness it can become sluggish, which is one reason swelling is common. Lymphatic massage is supportive care and does not replace your surgeon's or medical provider's instructions.
What is post-op lymphatic massage?
It is the same manual lymphatic drainage technique adapted for recovery after surgery. The therapist works carefully around incisions, drains and tender areas, and many clients find it helps with swelling and post-surgical discomfort.
When can I start after surgery?
Your surgeon decides when you are ready. Many clients begin within the first week or two after their procedure, but timing varies with the surgery and how you are healing. Bring or share your surgeon's instructions and we will plan your sessions around them.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your procedure, the amount of swelling you have and your surgeon's recommendation. Some clients come for a short series in the first weeks; others continue less often over a longer period. We will talk through a plan at your first visit.
Does it hurt?
Lymphatic drainage is a very light technique, not a deep tissue massage. Most clients describe it as gentle and relaxing. Tell your therapist immediately if anything is uncomfortable so pressure and positioning can be adjusted.
Which procedures do you commonly see?
Clients frequently come to us after a tummy tuck, liposuction, BBL, breast surgery and other cosmetic or reconstructive procedures. We also see clients recovering from orthopedic surgery.
Should I wear my compression garment?
Follow your surgeon's instructions on compression. Bring your garment to your appointment so you can put it back on right after the session if your surgeon has asked you to wear it.
