Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning in Palm Beach Gardens
A gentle manual exfoliation that lifts away dead surface cells and fine facial hair, leaving skin smooth and makeup sitting noticeably better.

The Treatment
What dermaplaning is
Dermaplaning is a physical exfoliation performed by hand. Your provider holds a sterile blade at a shallow angle against taut skin and works in short strokes, removing the layer of dead cells sitting on the surface along with the fine vellus hair that catches light and makeup.
How it works
Nothing penetrates the skin — the work is entirely at the surface. Clearing that layer is what makes skin feel smoother immediately and allows serums and moisturisers applied afterward to reach the skin rather than the debris on top of it.
There is no equipment involved beyond the blade and the provider's technique, which is why it is one of the gentler treatments on our menu.
Concerns it is generally chosen for
- Rough or flaky surface texture
- Dull-looking skin
- Fine facial hair that catches makeup
- Products that seem to sit on the skin rather than absorb
- A smoother base before an event
What to expect during your visit
Skin is cleansed and dried, then your provider works section by section across the face. You will hear the blade more than you feel it. The treatment finishes with hydrating and protective products, and skin usually looks bright straight away.
Freshly exfoliated skin is more exposed to sun, so daily sun protection matters afterward — particularly here in South Florida.
Suitability
Who it may suit
Dermaplaning suits most skin types and is a good entry point for anyone who wants visible smoothness without a recovery period.
It is not performed over active breakouts, inflamed or broken skin, cold sores or sunburn. If you use prescription retinoids or other prescription skin medication, check with your prescribing provider and let us know before your appointment.
Questions
Dermaplaning FAQs
Will the hair grow back thicker?
No. Dermaplaning removes fine vellus hair at the surface; it does not change the hair follicle, so hair returns with the same texture it had before.
Is dermaplaning uncomfortable?
Most clients find it painless and describe it as a light scraping sensation. The skin is held taut and the blade is worked in short, controlled strokes.
Can dermaplaning be combined with another treatment?
It is often done before a facial, because clearing the surface helps the products that follow reach the skin. Your provider will advise what makes sense for your skin on the day.
